Jill Harris is a singer and songwriter from Toronto, Ontario. She was raised in a family of music and theatre lovers, who encouraged her to pursue her passion. Performing on stage since age eight, Jill has garnered years of experience in musicals, choirs and bands. Initially drawn to Folk music and Music Theatre, her musical interests grew and now she is often found singing Folk, R&B, Jazz, and Indie music. In 2012, she graduated from Humber College’s prestigious music program with a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Vocals.
As a vocalist, Jill has always had a keen ear for harmonies, and enjoys singing background and supporting vocals for various artists. She has had the privilege to record and perform with artists such as Pat Kilbride, Heather Hill, Lily Cheng, Paul DeLong and Brian O’Kane, and has worked with producer Tommy LiPuma. With her R&B and Soul band BF Soul, she has performed at the Kitchener Bluesfest, the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition (CLE) and the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE).
Jill has been writing original music for over a decade and continues to do so for her band Lua and her acappella girl group The O’Pears . She is currently recording her debut Indie album with Lua which will be released by December 2012. Jill works out of Toronto as a freelance vocalist.
